Hi ,

I have already installed postgres-8.3.1 and i want to install postgis , how do i install postgis . do i require proj4 and geos.

Hi,

when i tried these two commands
psql -d postgistemplate -f /usr/share/postgresql-8.2-postgis/lwpostgis.sql
psql -d postgistemplate -f /usr/share/postgresql-8.2-postgis/spatial_ref_sys.sql
Errors:
psql:/usr/share/postgresql-8.2-postgis/spatial_ref_sys.sql:10957: ERROR: 1) current transaction is aborted, commands ignored until end of transaction block
2)psql:/usr/share/postgresql-8.2-postgis/lwpostgis.sql:4219: ERROR: current transaction is aborted, commands ignored until end of transaction block

Can u help me.

I have changed the permission of folder,but the problem was still there.How can I solve this?

lixiaoshan, it could be a permission issue. Be sure that the folder where the output should be written have the correct permissions. Good luck

I’m a chinese college student,and i’m very interesting in GIS.Meanwhile,i also like read your blog very much ,it’s very helpful to me ,thank you !
Recently,I download the demo for MapScript C# Tutorial - Programming MapServer in the ASP .NET Framework and try to run it.but I find I can’t get a map a render even though app compiles and runs.
I have change the “mapFilePath” in web.config and the “SHAPEPATH” in csharptutorial.map
for addition, i run it in visual studio 2003 and the IIS 5.1
any help will be great ,thank you !
